The Center for Excellence in Distance Learning was created in 2013 by Wiley College to promote greater sharing of resources, experiences and best practices in distance learning among the HBCU community.
The Center for Excellence serves as:
- A forum for dialogue on virtual teaching and learning at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
- A network of distance learning decision-makers, practitioners and researchers.
- A partnership between HBCUs and other stakeholders.
- A catalyst and clearinghouse for research, collaboration, best practices, resource sharing, dissemination and innovation in distance learning, faculty development, continuing education and global initiatives.
Current institutional partners welcome the participation of other institutions interested in working collaboratively towards common goals around building and strengthening distance learning programs.
